Hi! I’m Andrea.
I am a UC Berkeley graduate student focused on UX and product design -
In 2014 I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Michigan. As a Latinx in STEM, I wanted to help STEM students from similar backgrounds. When I graduated I therefore left research to go to UCLA, where I mentored hundreds of underrepresented and first-generation students.
At UCLA I designed database interfaces and wrote content for our website. In this context I fell in love with coding and thinking about how information hierarchy could help our students discover opportunities, and I jumped at the chance to learn more about product design and development. This is why I am in graduate school now - to gain formal training and build a framework for understanding the design process.
More About Me…
I am a lifelong learner and have a deep passion for human-powered adventure. When I’m not sketching ideas, I enjoy rock climbing, snowboard mountaineering, mountain biking, and yoga.
